TO THE INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY
Dear Comrades, brothers and sisters in occupied Northern Cyprus
The EEK (Workers Revolutionary Party) sends you the warmest fraternal greetings and expresses its full class solidarity to the third General Strike that you launched on April 7, 2011 against the anti-popular measures and draconian cuts imposed by the capitalist oligarchy and the colonial Turkish forces.
Your struggle is objectively united with the struggle that Greek workers are waging, particularly a year now with successive General Strikes against the barbarian program imposed by the Greek PASOK government in the service of the IMF, the European Union, and the European Central Bank destroying wages, pensions, jobs, living standards, health and education of millions of people to save the international and local banks and the capitalist system that led our country into bankruptcy. We are confident that we, the people, will defeat them! To achieve victory, we have also to overcome the obstacles that the treacherous trade union bureaucracy put to the powerful workers movement by limiting so far the mass action into 24 hours protests. The working class and the class struggle unions have to organize and prepare an indefinite General Strike to defeat the government and the imperialist agencies of global finance capital, the IMF, the EU, the ECB, to open the road to workers power, and social emancipation, Socialism- the only way out from the current impasse of the bankrupt social system.
We have the same class enemies who try to divide us on chauvinistic lines- the ruling classes of Greece and Turkey and imperialism who are responsible also for the tragedy and division of Cyprus. But our internationalist unity and solidarity will prevail!
The on-going Arab Revolution is our source of inspiration! The revolutionary storm shaking our entire region, all the Middle East in our close neighborhood and at the doors of a Europe in deep economic crisis and social turmoil, cannot be contained despite repression, imperialist war intervention, attempts to provide a “democratic” façade to the same social order. The genie is out of the bottle!
- Let us unite our forces internationally to build a new future of freedom and social justice for our peoples.
- Victory to the strike movement in Northern Cyprus!
- For a united, independent, socialist Cyprus, where Greek and |Turkish Cypriots will live equal as brothers and sisters, without foreign troops and imperialist bases!
- Imperialism out of Libya, Cyprus, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East!
- For a Socialist Federation of free and independent peoples in the Middle East and the Balkans!
- Long live international solidarity and proletarian internationalism!
